How does Invisalign® Treatment work?

Invisalign, Invisalign Teen, and Invisalign First are the clear way to straighten teeth without braces. Instead of braces, a series of clear aligners are fabricated to aid in the alignment of the teeth. These clear aligners are removable and virtually invisible, which means you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing. In addition, you can still eat and drink what you would like and you can maintain a healthy mouth since it is easier to brush and floss.

Invisalign Teen is designed specifically for teenagers. You can straighten your teeth without metal wires and brackets getting in the way. You’re free to enjoy the things that make these the best times of your life.

Invisalign First treatment is designed for young children who have a combination of baby teeth and adult teeth. As a child grows, their smile grows with them. Depending on the orthodontic issue, it may be beneficial to start as early as age 7.

What aligners are made of?: Invisalign aligners are made of medical grade plastic (multi-layer aromatic thermoplastic polyurethane / copolyester to be exact). Invisalign aligners are classified as Class II medical devices and Align Technology has held a 510(k) clearance from the Food and Drug Administration since 1998. Since that time, the federal standards for medical devices and prescriptions has been met by Invisalign and all the materials used are shown to be biocompatible for human use in the oral cavity.
