Damon System braces are a unique type of orthodontic treatment ideal for all ages, including young children, teenagers, and adults. In contrast to traditional orthodontic options, Damon braces use a state-of-the-art self-ligating mechanism.

The unique advantage of Damon braces is that they use a slide mechanism to hold the orthodontic archwires in place. This allows for lower friction and lighter forces, which allows the teeth to move more quickly and comfortably. In contrast, most other orthodontic brace systems utilize elastic bands to hold the wires, which increases friction and requires higher forces to move the teeth.

1. Damon passive self-ligating braces utilize a slide mechanism that eliminates the need for elastic or metal "ties". With Damon tie-less braces you can experience treatment without tightening.

3. This clinically proven treatment approach aligns your teeth and enhances your facial esthetics—usually without extractions or rapid palatal expanders.

Benefits of Damon System Braces

Damon braces are designed to be discreet, comfortable and easy to keep clean. Without the elastic ties that are prone to collect plaque, Damon braces make dental hygiene easy during treatment. Plus, the Damon System is available in clear brackets (Damon Clear) for the upper arch.

1. Achieving arch width expansion: Often, a patient will require a palatal expander if they need to have their dental arches expanded. The Damon system effectively widens the dental arches and creates more room for growing teeth reducing the need for a separate rapid palatal expansion (RPE) appliance.
2. Eliminating the need for tooth extractions: As dentists, we strive to preserve all of your natural teeth whenever possible. Studies have shown that using Damon braces to expand and create space significantly reduces the need for permanent tooth extraction during comprehensive orthodontic treatment.
